Up on tiptoe,

Muscles stretching,

Arms open wide

To encompass the whole of you.

Then two bodies become one

My body absorbs

The warmth of you

And my eyes close in content

Your arms wrap around me,

Mine around you

To create a feeling that can only be described

As a “squish”.

All too soon,

Your arms slip away,

And I wait for the moment

When I can hug you again.
